Our Therapists

Mitra Rahimpour

I am an experienced and certified counsellor through the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association, and a registered psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.
I have a Master's degree in Cognitive Science and a Master's degree in Counselling and Spirituality.  I have combined my science and counselling background to get a better understanding of individuals' cognition and emotional and psychological dimensions and needs.
My goal is to help you, in a non-judgemental and supportive environment, have a clearer sense of the direction you want for your life. I assist teens, adults, couples and families to understand and explore issues associated with communication, blended/step-families,  post traumatic stress, depression, anxiety and/or anger, and gender issues.  As an associate with the Centre for Treatment of Sexual Abuse and Childhood Trauma, I have experience in helping individuals to deal with trauma (including sexual trauma in childhood and/or adulthood).  I have years of experience dealing with a range of issues including, divorce, marital and family conflict, demographic specific issues such as issues specific to refugees, immigrants, and women.
I understand everyone is unique and there is not an all encompassing therapeutic solution. I apply my vast experience and knowledge of different therapy approaches to meet your objectives. Upon request, I can integrate different spirituality orientations and ethnic backgrounds in my approach.  I can provide counselling in English and Farsi.

Cintia Garcia Block

I was born in Argentina, and raised in different parts of Africa. I studied to become a psychologist in Argentina, and in 2006 I became a Licensed Psychologist in my country of origin. A few years later I moved to Canada and enrolled in Saint Paul University where I obtained a Master in Counselling and Spirituality (2015), specializing in Couple’s Counselling. I am currently under supervision in working with families in order to become a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy.

I am a firm believer that healthy families make healthy societies, and am passionate about human relationships. My international background has been an asset for my work with people, and helped me understand the role culture and families play in human behaviour, particularly when faced with a problem. I have clinical experience in a variety of different settings, both locally and abroad. I am comfortable in providing counselling both in English and Spanish.
